Shanna Smith 2011
Hello Librarians and Educators,
I am Shanna Smith, Library Director of the Goodwin Library, Farmington, NH. Formerly, I served Mesa County Libraries in Colorado as their Teen Librarian. I have been interested in henna for years, but it was a 2009 Kansas Library Conference that reintroduced me to the art form. For the past few years, I have developed my henna art into a successful program, which I have shared in libraries, schools, and at conferences and workshops. Instead of focusing on the art and history of henna on this website, I would like to share my experiences directly related to library programming. For programmers completely unfamiliar with the art, I hope to direct you to some great resources.
I would like to thank Sheryl Nance-Durst, a librarian from Kansas, for some of my initial knowledge.
Thanks to David Goe for assistance with my henna programs in Colorado and the website.
